The senate today removed Senator Abdullahi Adamu as the Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum over alleged diversion of about N70 million belonging to the forum.
Sundiata Post recalls that the red chamber on Tuesday, in a similar development, mandated its committee on ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions to investigate Senator Omo-Agege’s claim that the senate’s passage of the new election re-ordering sequence was targeted at President Buhari, a statement, according to Dino Melaye, which amounted to questioning the integrity of the Red Chamber.
At the close of plenary on Wednesday, the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, read a letter from the Northern Senators Forum, saying Senator Abdullahi Adamu has been removed as the Chairman of the forum.
Senator Adamu, the lawmaker representing Nasarawa West, assumed the Chairmanship of the forum at the beginning of the 8th Assembly.
Senator Aliyu Wamako, former Governor of Sokoto State was, however, announced as new Chairman of the forum.
The letter which was signed by the Spokesman of the forum, Senator Dino Melaye, accused Adamu of misappropriating monies meant for the forum.

Briefing newsmen after plenary, Senator representing Kaduna central, Comrade Shehu Sani said the removal of Adamu may not be unconnected to the sudden disappearance of N70million belonging to the forum.
He said, the money was, however, alleged to have been stolen from the farm of Senator Adamu located in Nasarawa State.
