Maiduguri – The Assistant Commandant-General on Operations, NSCDC, Mr Aminu Kofarsoro, said the Borno Government has promised to give logistics support to enable his agency operate effectively in Government House.
Kofarsoro disclosed this when he spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Maiduguri.
He said that the approval was given by Gov. Kashim Shettima for NSCDC to now operate in the government house.
“The Governor of Borno State has made this possible and he has shown that he appreciates exactly the role and mandate of NSCDC in protecting critical infrastructure and national assets in the country.
“So, it is a good time for us to be in the Government House and we appreciate the governor.
“We were not at the Government House before now because of some logistics and administrative issues but now the governor has given us an express permission to be at the Government House along with other security agencies,” Kafarsoro said.
He said that the Commandant of the state command, Malam Ibrahim Abdullahi, has been a proactive officer in carrying out the duties of the service in the state.
Kafarsoro said that the commandant had been working along with the governor’s mandate in the state in ensuring the protection of all assets within the state.
“We are thankful to him (governor) and we will do our best to contribute to maintaining peace within and outside the Government House and in the state in general,” he said.
