A Slovenian hotel has decided to auction off the bed slept on by football star Cristiano Ronaldo during his recent stay in Ljubljana for a Portugal friendly match. The starting bid for the bed, set to benefit charity, is £4,300 (N7.095m).
The Grand Plaza Hotel, where Ronaldo and the Portugal squad stayed, plans to auction the bed as a unique opportunity for fans to participate in a special event. Teaming up with media company POP TV, the hotel aims to maximize the value of the bed occupied by Ronaldo just days ago.
Despite Ronaldo’s presence, Portugal suffered a defeat against Slovenia, marking their first loss under coach Roberto Martinez. The match’s outcome serves as a warning for other Euro 2024 contenders, including England, who are scheduled to face Slovenia in their final group game on June 25.
