Kano – Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) on Friday issued certificates of Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP) to 11 companies operating in Kano State for meeting quality standards.
The companies are; Bimco milk, Big Treat Plc, Gold Foam and Chemical Industries Nigeria Ltd., Hezco Food Processing Company, Mee-Mesha Nigeria Ltd., Maroosh Bakery and Snacks Ltd., Masarrah Nigeria Ltd., Moa Feng Global Trust Nigeria Ltd., Oasis Bakery Nigeria Ltd., Salma Bakery and Snacks Ltd. and Wellcare Alliance Ltd.
Alhaji Yunusa Mohammed, the Coordinator, Kano/Jigawa offices of SON, said during the presentation of the certificates in Kano, that the award was in recognition of the companies’ adherence to quality in the production of products.
According to him, manufacturers must maintain quality assurance and quality control activities, as well as ensure consumers’ satisfaction at all times.
He said “SON will not hesitate to withdraw its certificates where it is discovered that Nigerians are no longer getting value for their money .”
He advised other companies to come forward and associate themselves with SON.
He urged the certified companies to continue to comply and maintain standards.
Mr Ezekiel Samson, the Director of Hezco Food Processing Company which is among companies that got the certificate, expressed gratitude to SON and urged other entrepreneurs to work toward being certified too. (NAN)
