Liverpool striker Luis Suarez insists he is staying at Anfield amid reported interest in his services from Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The Uruguayan’s incredible goal-scoring record this season has seen him linked to various clubs, most notably Los Blancos, yet the 27-year-old says he has no intention of leaving the Merseyside club.
“Don’t worry, nothing is going to happen to me,” the forward told Uruguay TV station Canal 10.
“I’m very happy here and my family is happy here. If we could win the Premier League and bring the trophy home it would be incredible, a dream come true.”
Suarez, who recently won the Professional Footballers’ Association’s Player of the Year award, has amassed 30 League goals this season, and is one shy of equalling the record for most goals scored in a Premier league season.
Liverpool, who are three points ahead of Manchester City who have a game in hand, need the Citizens to slip up in order to win their first league crown in 24 years.
“We are hoping Man City loses some points, and in the Premier League you never know, anything is possible,” Suarez said.
“Now we have to win the next two games and it is not going to be easy.”
Liverpool take on Crystal palace and Newcastle in their final two fixtures, while Manchester City face Everton, Aston Villa and West Ham. (kickoffnigeria)
