GOMBE – The Speaker, House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, on Sunday advised the Gombe Emirate Council to cooperate with the state government in the selection of new Emir of Gombe.

The speaker gave the advice while briefing newsmen shortly after he paid a condolence visit to the emirate in Gombe.

Shortly after the condolence visit, Tambuwal, Gov. Ibrahim Dankwambo and other stakeholders held a closed door meeting at the palace.

“Only one person will emerge as the emir of Gombe and everybody should support the government once that personality is announced.

“Our support and cooperation is so important at this stage, so that the peace we have been enjoying in the state will continue,” he said.

The speaker described the late emir as a man of peace and integrity who was very close to his subjects at all times.

He called on the people to take his demise as an act of Allah.

“All of us are from Him (Allah) and unto Him we shall all return, it is only a matter of time and destiny,” he said.(NAN)
