Abuja – The Police on Thursday arraigned a 34-year-old Technician, Ndukwe Chukwu, in the Gudu Upper Area Court for allegedly hitting his boss with an iron rod.
Chukwu, a resident of Aku Village, Mararaba, Nasarawa State, is standing trial on a charge of causing hurt.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Mohammed Garba, told the court that one Mr Girima Habtewolo of Setraco, Life Camp, Abuja, reported the matter at the Garki Police Station on May 21.
He said that the accused, a staff of the complainant, went to the complainant’s office at Setraco, Southern Park Way, Area 11, Garki, Abuja and intentionally picked an iron rod.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
According to Garba, the accused hit the complainant on his right hand with the said iron rod, thereby inflicting injuries on the complainant.
He said in the course of police investigations, the iron rod was recovered from the accused.
Garba also said the offence contravened Section 245 of the penal code.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Judge, Alhaji Umar Kagarko, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one reliable surety that must be residing within the court’s jurisdiction.
He adjourned the case till June 25 for hearing. (NAN)
