It was a tale of two Nigerians as Gil Vicent hosted Estoril in a Portuguese Primera Liga Sagres game on Sunday.
Simeon Tochukwu, known as Simmy in Portugal, was up against his compatriot, Anderson Esiti, who started in midfield for the visitors.
Tochukwu was the main man in attack for Gil Vicente at the Estadio Cidade de Barcellos while Anderson Esiti, a defensive midfielder held forth for Estoril.
The home side went ahead in the 38th minute of the game when Tochukwu prodded the ball past Estoril goalkeeper Vagner to give Vicente the advantage. [eap_ad_2]
The lead barely lasted five minutes as a Kleber penalty in the 42nd minute restored parity.
There were no more goals in the second half of the ill-tempered game that saw six yellow cards.
Both Nigerians lasted the entire duration of the game.
Tochukwu’s goal is his third of the current campaign while Esiti played his second full game this season. (supersport.com) [eap_ad_3]
