Ikorodu (Lagos State) – A trailer driver’s assistant, Dadi Abdulahi, has appeared before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for allegedly stealing the vehicle’s battery and wires.
The accused, whose address is unknown, was arraigned before Magistrate A. Oshodi-Makanju, on stealing.
Abdulahi, however, pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutor Kemi Adeniran said the accused committed the offence on July 1 at about 8.30 a.m. at Elias Estate at Owode area of Ikorodu.
Sgt. Adeniran told the court that the accused dismantled the wires of the articulated vehicle with registration no. XU 113 FKJ.
According to her, the accused also removed the battery of the vehicle valued at N3,000.
The offence contravened Section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Oshodi-Makanju granted the accused bail in the sum of N10,000 with one responsible surety who must show evidence of tax payment.
The case has been adjourned to Aug. 25 for mention. (NAN)
