Abuja – The United States Latino American Chamber of Commerce (USLACC) on Tuesday inaugurated its West African sub regional centre in Abuja.
Dr Manuel Cevallos, the President of USLACC, solicited the cooperation of Nigerians in promoting trade and investment in West Africa.
Cevallos, who was represented by Mr Osondu Nwaononiwu, Project Director of the USLACC, said the cooperation would enhance development and streamline trade and commercial activities in Nigeria and the sub region.
He said the cooperation would also enable investors to exchange insight and develop networks for easy trade relationships.
“We are ready to provide the platform for real business partnerships that works.
“This development is meant to strengthen the trade and business relationships between Africa and other countries.
“We have taken commitment of closing the long existing gap of doing business in Africa with U.S. and other developed countries,’’ he said.
Mrs Ifeoma Ejiogu, USLACC Director, West African Region, said that the unveiling of USLACC would help to design and review business plans and blue prints of any particular business activities.
Ejiogu said USLACC had designed an international trade convention that Africans could benefit from by showcasing their potentials on viable projects to foreign investors.
“We are pious in our efforts at ensuring foreign business investors and financial institutions will offer funding support to expanding the chamber`s activities.

“Meanwhile, there are government policies and aids that needed to be harnessed for easy trade and bilateral business relationship.
“We assure that this chamber will represent the interest of business of all sizes, sectors and region,’’ she said.
Mr Pascal Ahizre, Chairman of the occasion, encouraged Nigerians especially the youths to support the chamber for easy trade connections and investment opportunities in Africa.
Ahizre said that the chamber was committed to promoting business friendly environment, enterprises, skills, training, advisory services for development.
He noted that the chamber had some key trade potentials and opportunities in agricultural, educational, social and community development. (NAN)
