Ikeja, – A 42-year-old unemployed man, Samson Ajayi, on Wednesday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing from a hotel.
The defendant, who resides at 10, Oluwole St., Shogunle, Mushin, Lagos State, is facing a count charge of stealing.
He, however, pleaded not guilty.
According to the prosecutor, Insp Glory Goodday, the defendant stole electrical appliances worth N727,000 on Aug. 23 at Shogunle in Mushin, Lagos State.
Goodday said that the defendant burgled a hotel room through where an air conditioner was placed, and stole a television set, an air conditioner, two ceiling fans, a power generator and a power generator coil, all worth N727,000.
He said that property belonged to Mr Adekunle Ajayi.
According to the prosecutor, stealing contravenes Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, Mr O.O. Odufuye, granted the defendant bail in the sum N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Odufuye adjourned the case until Oct. 6 for mention. (NAN)
