Lagos – A 22 years old man, Musa Usman, on Wednesday appeared before an Ojo Magistrates Court in Lagos, for allegedly stealing five cartons of cell phone screen protector valued N648,000.
The defendant who is unemployed, was arraigned by the police on two counts of conspiracy and stealing.
Usman, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, Insp. Simon Uche alleged that the defendant and others, who are now at large, committed the offences on Sept. 30.
He alleged that the defendant stole five cartons of phone screen protector at the Alaba Rago market belonging to one Olaoye Olatunji.
According to him, the goods are worth N648,000
He said that the offences contravened the provisions of sections 285 and 409 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The offence of stealing carries a term of seven years in jail if found guilty.
Following the not guilty plea of the defendant, the Magistrate, Mr A.A Adesanya granted him bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case until Dec. 10 for mention. (NAN)
