Abuja – Rev. Fr. George Ehusani, the Chaplain of the Lux Terra Catholic Chapel, Apo Abuja has advised young and single Christians to embrace purity and chastity as a way of life.
Ehusani made the call on Sunday in Abuja while hosting singles of the Chaplaincy to a valentine event.
According to him, the devil targets young men and women devoted to good Christian values for destruction.
He said the unmarried men and women must seek God’s grace to be able to resist temptations at such a time like the Valentine celebrations, in their quest to get hooked to life partners.
“There are several scriptures in the Bible that talk about purity and chastity and this is so because every other sin you commit, like St. Paul says is outside the body but immorality is committed with the body.’’
The chaplain explained that genuine friendship between single male and female could only be sustained on Christian’s values.
He therefore urged the youth to avoid compromising situations and eschew promiscuity.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
“For example, if a woman knows that by mere hand touch by a man she likes, she gets emotionally tempted, she should avoid being touched.
He urged that men and women who have attained the ripe age of marriage but yet to find the right partners, should not be regarded as“ failures.”
“If the world considers you a failure because you have not find a husband or wife thus far, do not consider yourself a failure.
“When you lack any of the indices of worldly success, that is when you are even more precious in the sight of God,’’ he said.
The priest enjoined the youths to partake in the church activities to the best of their abilities in addition to being volunteers in charity work.(NAN)
