During a media briefing in Uyo to commemorate his one year anniversary in office, Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State vowed to crackdown on criminal elements by launching operations in the creeks surrounding the state.

“We have tracked, apprehended, and confronted individuals involved in every kidnapping incident in this state,” Governor Eno declared, emphasizing the importance of public cooperation in providing information. “Some communities harbor these criminal elements and view it as a business. We will soon make some significant arrests.”

He assured the public of his commitment to tackling crime, stating, “We are taking the fight to criminals in the creeks. Be vigilant with your children; there may be casualties, but we cannot allow this to persist.”

Reflecting on his tenure, Governor Eno expressed pride in his administration’s accomplishments, stating, “I have served Akwa Ibom with integrity over the past year. Our goal is to serve our people.”

Highlighting ongoing infrastructure projects, he announced the termination of contracts for four roads due to contractor non-compliance, with plans to re-award them.

Governor Umo Eno’s first year in office has seen significant progress in various sectors, including health, agriculture, education, aviation, security, and road infrastructure, aligning with his ARISE agenda.
