The lawyer for Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, has clarified why his client did not appear before the House of Representatives.
Bobrisky was scheduled to attend a session on Monday to address allegations that he bribed officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to dismiss money laundering charges against him, as well as accusations involving the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS) to avoid serving time in prison. These claims were made by social media activist Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan.
On the day of the hearing, Bobrisky’s lawyer informed the lawmakers that his client was suffering from health issues. In response, the House of Representatives requested medical documentation to verify the claims made by Bobrisky’s lawyer.
Further details are pending.
