ABUJA (Sundiata Post) Many Yoruba seem not to be aware of a fact or if they are, they prefer not to believe it is of any values.
The fact is that it is the alliance of the Yoruba and the North that enacted and or consolidated the worst and or most signal genocide in Africa.
For many Yoruba analysts the civil war partners of North and Yoruba wasn’t an alliance of evil and evil doers, which it was. For many of them it wasn’t even an alliance at all.
For many of Yoruba it was a singularity kind of, perhaps an act designed by the gods of which there are victims but thus not justiciable perpetrators. And therefore no parties are or can be held as guilty.
For records:
What happened under Gowon and Awolowo was in part the inspiration to the Rwandese and other African genocides.
So the argument and or phrases like: ”the Yoruba must find ways to profit from their new found Northern Nigerian friends” are historically meaningless. The North and the Yoruba have been at it since eternity, Afonja and all. https://punchng.com/tinubu-no-dulling-this-time-round/
It is worthy to note without judgment, that every time such as the North and the Yoruba come together, bloodletting, descent to chaos and war seem to be the norm. See what we are about now in this their kind alliance repeating itself?
The rule of law is now taken to be inferior to the rule of the strongman and his vice [no puns intended] president. And where are those from? Has professor VP put a word in protest against the inferiorization of the law? Just like Gowon and Awolowo justified mass starvation as tools of romance, genocide and annihilation of others the Prof VP is about the same with his silence.
History is made up of facts as are. History is not a trader. History does not thus deal in discounts. All acts are tallied and accounted for by history. There are no jara and no discounts in and or with history.
Finally we do not envy the Yoruba on their choices. We acknowledge their right to the pursuit of their best interests however they define it.
Our take is that the facts of history be made sacred and be not discounted. The unjust and genocidal war was levied upon the Igbo by the key alliance partners of the North and the Southwest.

And all they sought was blood rather than peace, barbarism rather than development. Now all that they ordered has arrived Nigeria. The rest is humor. Ahiazuwa.
