ABUJA – A budding tennis star, Lolade Homes, says she derives her inspiration from U.S. tennis stars, [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]Venus and Serena Williams.
Homes made the revelation in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Abuja.
She said this was why she was determined to put in good performance at the 2015 ITF West and Central Africa Junior Championship, billed for Lome, Togo.
The 2015 International Tennis Federation (ITF) West and Central Africa Junior Championship is holding from Jan. 9 to Jan.14.
NAN recalls that the Holmes sisters, Lolade and Reya, played in exhibition matches against the William [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]sisters in Lagos when they visited the country in 2013.
Lolade said their intention in the Lome championship was to put up top-class performance.
Holmes said that playing with Serena and Venus in an exhibition match had inspired her and her sister.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]

privilege to step on court with two of the greatest female players in tennis.
“I am determined to put up my best to help Nigeria to be among the top countries at the tournament because I have always been looking forward to playing for Nigeria,’’ she said.
Also speaking to NAN from Lome, the National Junior Tennis Coach, Mohammed Ubale, expressed confidence in the ability of the players.
“All the players are in good spirit; they have been playing well since we started the closed camping back home and we won our first two matches here in Togo,” he said. (NAN)
