Enugu – Rivers Angels FC of Port Harcourt on Wednesday defeated Nasarawa Amazons FC 1-0 in a Women Federation Cup semi-final match at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.
The only goal of the match was scored by the Super Falcons player, Osinachi Ohale, in the 31st minute through a direct free-kick outside the box.
Speaking to newsmen after the match, Ohale expressed joy at the victory.
“I feel honoured for being the lucky person to have booked the FA final for my team.
“Immediately the free-kick came, I knew it was an opportunity for me to put my club ahead as I have been practicing it during our training,” she said.
Ohale commended her colleagues for putting up an amazing performance in the match, saying that Nasarawa Amazons really gave them a run for their money.
She hoped that the club would win the trophy in spite of who they faced in the final.
“We lost to Confluence Queens of Lokoja last season at the semi-finals and reaching the final this year, I do not see anything stopping us from lifting the trophy,” Ohale said.
