Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The National Association of Women Entrepreneurs (NAWE), have congratulated the former Nigeria Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida, the beloved Maradona in the country’s national politics, who turned 82 on August 17, 2023.
The current history has moved him down stream as an authentic elder statesman, the NAWE President, Barr. Vera Ndanusa said on Thursday while sending her best wishes.
“He has been in the eyes of our national political storm since he shoved aside the former Commander-in-Chief, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari on August 27, 1985, and proceeded to unfold his blueprint for a new Nigeria.
“He was full of surprises and delivered regular shocks to the system. He did titanic things”, Ndanusa said.
NAWE prayed to God to continue granting Babangida good health, wisdom and peace in the years ahead.
She recalled that throughout Babangida’s journey as the former Head of States of Nigeria, he demonstrated unwavering dedication, profound wisdom, and a strong commitment to the betterment of the nation.
“Your relentless efforts in fostering unity, promoting social justice, and advocating for economic progress transformed countless lives and communities.
“Under your guidance, Nigeria experienced significant advancements in various sectors, fostering an environment of growth and prosperity”, NAWE said
Ndanusa said the former Head of State has made invaluable contributions to the social, economic, and political development of Nigeria in various capacities.
“He has consistently mentored his contemporaries and the younger generation in all facets of life.
“As a great achiever, Babangida deserves to be celebrated for his contributions to humanity”, the women group said.
She prayed for a longer life for the Army General.
