Damaturu – The Yobe Government has approved N336 million for supply and installation of furniture and electronics at the State University Teaching Hospital, Damaturu and General Hospitals in Giedam, Gashua and Potiskum.
Alhaji Mala Musti, State Commissioner for Information, revealed this in Damaturu on Thursday at a news conference after the State Executive Council meeting.
He explained that N166.8 million was approved for office furniture and electronics for the University Teaching Hospital while N169.4 million was set aside for the three hospitals.
The commissioner said the council also approved a review of N110.7 million for completion of renovation and expansion work at General Hospitals in Potiskum and Gashua.
Musti said N97.6 million would also be spent for the completion of a two-storey building hostel at the state university.
According to him, the council also approved N154.8 million for operational expenses for the 2017 Hajj exercise.
‘‘The council also ratified N84.7 million for rehabilitation of defects to upgrade power supply from 11kVA to 33kVA for Yobe Investment House in Abuja,’’ he said. (NAN)
