Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Special Assistant to former President Goodluck Jonathan on Social Media, Reno Omokri has informed that those from Benue State who had at some points laughed at Governor Fayose owe him an apology.
Reno who reminded that herdsmen cannot kill Ekiti people like that and go scot free, emphasized that Fayose wont cry or beg Buhari either, but that the thing he will do to the herdsmen will make them know there are Governors and there are Governors. The Special Assistant therefore commended Fayose and Wike for their courage.
Reno disclosed this Monday on his twiiter handle @renoomokri while reacting to the recent killing in Benue state by the fulani herdsmen.
According to Reno, “If you are from Benue and you ever laughed at Fayose, you owe him an apology. Herdsmen can’t kill Ekiti people and go scot free. Fayose wont cry or beg Buhari. The thing he will do to herdsmen, they will know there are Governors and there are Governors. God bless Fayose and Wike.”
Sundiata Post recalls that the governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose made history as the first governor to take a drastic step against herdsmen attack. In May, he banned grazing and rearing of cattle in the state. He told herdsmen to get their own private cattle ranch if they want to rear cattles.
He took this action following the killing of two people by suspected herdsmen in Oke-Ako in Ikole local government area of the state.
Fayose once said, “I have directed that cattle rearing and grazing should stop in Ekiti State and those interested in cattle farming should henceforth do so in their own cattle ranch,”
It was also in a bid to curtail the activities of herdsmen that the governor signed the anti-grazing bill into law. The law prohibits the activities of herdsmen in the state and any herdsman caught with firearms or other weapons during grazing activities would be charged with terrorism and their cattle confiscated.
Governor Ayodele Fayose signed the bill into law on Monday, August 29, 2017 in front of an audience of about 3,000 traditional chiefs in Ekiti State.

By way of matching words with action, on Wednesday, October 12, 2017, Fayose personally chased herdsmen along Afao Ekiti road and arrested one cow. The governor was on his way to Ikole Ekiti when he saw the herdsmen and their cows. On seeing the governor’s security men, the herdsmen ran into the bush leaving their cows behind.
