Malumfashi (Katsina State) – A coalition of youth associations under the umbrella of Malumfashi Youths Development Association (MAYDA) has appealed to Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s polices.
The MAYDA Chairman, Malam Abubakar Nasir-Lara, made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Malumfashi.
Nasir-Lara said Buhari’s policies would correct past mistakes, adding that Nigerians needed to support his transformation goals given his past records.
He enjoined Nigerians to offer constructive criticisms as the president had expressed readiness to partner with anyone with meaningful ideas toward rebuilding the nation.
He said the recent peaceful protest held by MAYDA was part of the association’s initiative to express support for the liberalisation of the downstream sector and support Buhari’s anti-corruption crusade.
The chairman urged youths to abhor all forms of restiveness and engage in viable businesses so as to contribute to the development of the nation and ensure transparent dealings in all areas of endeavour.
He also commended Gov. Aminu Masari for his good policies and called for more support for the governor’s programmes to ensure everyone ultimately enjoys the dividends of democracy..
The association chairman also called on all tiers of governments to redouble efforts at providing good educational policies, healthcare delivery and employment opportunities.
He cautioned youths against thuggery while urging them to support the authorities to ensure peaceful co-existence always. (NAN)
