Danja – Babban Rafi and Unguwar Amarya communities in Danja Local Government of Katsina State have urged the state government to rehabilitate the 25-kilometer road linking them with Danja.
Alhaji Nuhu Tsangamawa and Alhaji Ali Maigona made the appeal in separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Danja on Tuesday.
They said that the two communities had made several efforts to rehabilitate and make the road useful, but has remained in dilapidated state.
The duo said that erosion had washed away parts of the roads and some houses, making it difficult for users to move easily and transport their agricultural commodities.
According to them, the road rehabilitation would attract increased investment in farming activities to the area and improve the social wellbeing of residents.
They commended the present administration’s efforts on road construction and provision of educational and health facilities across the state and appealed for the inclusion of the road in the budget.
They also urged the legislators representing the area at the state and national level to also push for the rehabilitation of the road.
In a related development, Alhaji Majazu Danja and Injiniya Muttaqa have called for rehabilitation of a kilometer road linking Unguwar Sani in Danja, which was devastated by erosion.
