Abeokuta – Two men Samuel Julius, 29 and Akinwande Wunmi 29, were on Thursday arraigned before an Abeokuta Magistrates Court sitting in Isabo.
The men were docked for allegedly forging a letter to defraud customers of Alpha Health Product, the company they work for.
The two men, whose address was stated, are facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, forgery and fraud.
The prosecutor, Insp. Sunday Eigbejiale, told the court that the accused committed the offences sometimes in the 2016 at Kuto area in Abeokuta.
He said, “the duo work for Alpha Health Product Company.
“They conspired together to forge a letter on behalf of the company that they were asked to collect money from customers who are yet to balance their money.
“With the forged letter, they obtained and received N369, 500 from some of the company’s customers.
“The two men were arrested when one of the customer at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta, refused to give them his money.
“This led to a fight that caused breach of public peace and they were arrested by the police,’’ the prosecutor told the court.
Eigbejiale said the offences contravened Sections 419, 516, and 465 of the Criminal Law of Ogun 2006.
The two men however pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mrs Oriyomi Shofowora, granted them bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till June 5 for hearing
