Kafanchan (Kaduna State ) – Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has commenced a “ thank you’’ tour to the 12 wards in the area.
The tour was in appreciation to the party members and the electorate for voting for the PDP during the 2015 general elections.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the tour is jointly led by the leadership of the party and elected representatives.
NAN reports that at most of the wards, the speakers appreciated members of the party for keeping faith with the party, especially for refusing to defect to the APC.
Speaking at Kafanchan Ward on Tuesday, Shehu Garba, a member of the National Assembly, representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, said that the party was indebted to all members. “
According to him, members “overwhelmingly supported candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party during the elections”.
Garba attributed the failure of the party at the federal and state levels to “some internal issues,” stressing that they were already being addressed to strengthen the party for future challenges.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
“Our message is simple – members of our party should not be discouraged; the downfall of a man is not the end of his life.
“We must see this failure as a challenge to rise again and reposition ourselves to succeed in future.
“Let me assure you all that your labour will not go in vain; our party is making frantic effort to reciprocate your goodwill,” he said.
Also speaking, Mr Labari Tella, member representing Jama’a Constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, assured members that PDP would “bounce back gallantly and stamp its impact in subsequent elections.”
Earlier in his remarks, the PDP Chairman in the area, Mr Robert Dyeris, said that the party was proud of its membership in view of the doggedness demonstrated even after losing the major elections.
Dyeris urged members to sustain their support in the interest of the party, and promised that such efforts would be rewarded at the end of the day.
