Ilorin – The Nationwide League One (NLO) on Thursday in Abuja said all was set for the kick-off of the 2015/2016 NLO season on Friday at various venues across the country.
A statement on the league body’s website quoted the Secretary, Shola Ogunnowo, as saying all the necessary logistics and organisation for a proper commencement have been put in place.
Ogunnowo said all the clubs in the League have all registered for the season and their players have undergone top-class medical examination.
“The medical examination was to ascertain the fitness of these players in order to avoid football tragedies.
“The NLO secretariat has been working with a certified medical professional, who is a member of the FIFA medical network, in person of Dr. Adebola Olajide.
“We are fully prepared and the Congress of the League body had approved the kick-off date at the last congress. So, we are good to go,’’ he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the NLO season will start on Friday at various venues across the country.
There are 40 clubs which will be battling for honours across the federation and they are divided into eight groups.
Winners of each group will gain promotion to the Nigeria National League (NNL) at the end of the season.(NAN)
