Cairo-The Togolese President, Faure Eyadema, has pledged his country’s support to Egypt in the war against terrorism.
Eyadema was speaking in Cairo Wednesday during an audience he had with the Egyptian Prime, Minister, Ibrahim Mahlab.
He is in Cairo to witness the inauguration, on Thursday, of the new Suez Canal.
The Togolese leader praised Egypt for the multi-million dollar project, saying that Egypt was famous for gigantic projects like the popular pyramids dotting Egypt.
The official spokesperson for the Council of Egyptian Ministers, Hossam al-Qaouich, Mahlab reaffirmed Egypt’s willingness to strengthen cooperation with Togo in all sectors.
He said this would include training in the domains of health and rescue services.
Mahlab said that Egypt was ready to send an emergency medical caravan to Togo and added that Egyptian companies were willing to participate in all development projects being implemented in the West African country.

He said the Egyptian ministry of Civil Aviation would begin to examine Togolese request for air link between Lome and Cairo by the Egyptian airline, Egypt Air. (PANA/NAN)
