Kano – Thousands of sympathisers including Chief of Staff to President, Malam Abba Kwari attended the funeral prayer for the late Military Governor of the old Kaduna State, retired AVM Mukhtar Mohammed in Kano on Wednesday. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Kyari led the Federal Government to the funeral prayer held at the Emir’s Palace in Kano.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) also reports that Late Mohammed died on Sunday, Oct. 1, in London during a brief illness.
The Chief Imam of Kano, Prof. Sani Zaharaddeen, conducted the prayer at exactly 8:420, with Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje and Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II in attendance.
Other important personalitiesinclude, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal, Saddique Abubakar, the Minister of Interior, retired Lt,- Gen. Abdurrahman Danbazau and the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika.
Others were; the Minister of Defence, retired Brig.- Gen. Mansur Dan’ali, Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu and Senior Special Assistant to President, Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu.
Also in attendance were Governors of Sokoto and Jigawa,, commissioners as well as traditional rulers from the two states, among, others.
The remains of the late former governor arrived Malam Aminu Kano International Airport in a chartered airlift with registration number N6644 C at exactly 8:40 p.m.
The late former Military Governor of Kaduna State (73) was later buried at Sagagi cemetery at Kofar Na’isa in Kano metropolis.
