ABUJA – Chief Ralph Nwosu, the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), said on Thursday that the party would ensure people-oriented governance if elected into power in 2015.
Nwosu said this after the party’s working committee’s meeting held in Abuja.
He said that the party planned to inaugurate a `Global Transformation Initiative’ programme to mobilise and empower people at the grassroots.
According to him, there is need to bring back to life the things that various communities are known for which empowers them economically.[eap_ad_2]
“We are running a major programme known as National Transformation Initiative, which will ensure that our communities are mobilised for grassroots empowerment and egalitarian Nigerian state.
“So it is not an Abuja thing. Instead of emphasising on politics at the centre with this initiative, we will concentrate on empowering the communities and ensure their progress.
“In this country, we emphasise on politics and that is why our people are dying; that is why there is insecurity,’’ Nwosu said.
He added that the programme, designed to commence in October in all the wards nationwide, was designed to unearth the things people could do in their communities.
He said the programme would go a long way to ensure that rather than exporting raw materials from the country, citizens would be empowered to turn raw materials into finished goods.
Nwosu said that it will in turn help the party to create employment and end poverty in the country.
He added that when people were adequately employed, the level of corruption and insecurity in country would drastically reduce. (NAN)[eap_ad_3]
