Sokoto – Manu Garba, Chief Coach, national U-17 team, has promised not to disappoint fans in the AFCON second leg qualifier against the Junior Menas of Niger Republic on Saturday.
The first leg played on Aug. 6 at the National Stadium, Abuja ended 1-0 in favour of Nigeria.
Garba made the promise in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Sokoto on Wednesday after the team’s training session.
He said: “We can give Nigerians assurance that we will win because we are working hard to qualify.
“We are praying to God to enable us to emerge victorious during the match.
“We are appealing to Nigerians to remember the team in their prayers’’.
Manu said that the team was camped in Sokoto to enable the players to acclimatise.
He noted that Sokoto and Niger had similar weather conditions.
Also, the team’s Media Officer, Mr Morakinyo Abodunrin, told NAN that the team arrived in Sokoto on Monday for camping.
He said: “The players and the coaching crew will leave for Niamey on Thursday preparatory to Saturday’s match’’. (NAN)
