Birnin Kebbi – The Kebbi State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has distributed relief materials worth N2 million to 400 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area of the state.
The agency’s Acting Executive Secretary, Alhaji Rabi’u Kamba, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday that the IDPs were living behind Oando Filling Station, Takalau and Malala in Birnin Kebbi.
Kamba said that the relief materials would also be extended to IDPs in Bunza, Danko/Wasagu and other areas soon, adding that flood and bandit attacks had forced the IDPs out of their communities.
He listed the items given to the IDPs to include rice, beans, maize, millet, salt, detergent, vegetable oil and yams.
Kamba, who advised the IDPs to make judicious use of the relief materials, enjoined them to see their plight as a test from Allah, adding that it is also a period for them to pray for Allah’s intervention.
