ABUJA – Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has finally dumped the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) from the ruling.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal
Tambuwal announced this in a short message he personally read at the end of plenary today.
He said he was leaving the PDP due to the political developments in Sokoto State.
He is a People’s Democratic Party member and representing the Kebbe/Tambuwal Federal Constituency of Sokoto State.
Tambuwal’s defection, pundits have observed will cause ruffling of feathers among members of the House in the days to come.
Meanwhile, after the announcement, Tambuwal adjourned the plenary sitting to December 3, 2014.
Political observers see the adjournment of Plenaries as a ploy to make it impossible for any attempt to initiate moves to impeach the governor.
Addressing newsmen after the sitting, Minority leader, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila expressed joy at the development, which he described as historic adding that APC members had long hoped for this development.
