ABUJA (Sundiata Post) – Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has commended the men and women and command of the Nigerian military for the liberation of Nigeria’s territory previously held by terrorists.
The former Vice President said in a statement by his media office in Abuja on Wednesday that while these operations could have come earlier, it is important to commend the military for the coming to the aid of the communities in the affected areas.
The statement noted that the successful military operations in the North East justify the earlier position held by leaders of the region: working with local people brings better results.

“Incursions on small communities are still happening, as retreating insurgents raid for food. I hope the operations strategy is aware of this, and mops up as needed.
“It is also my hope the Nigerian military, neighbouring forces, local leaders and vigilante groups will continue to collaborate, towards decisively ending this insurgency,” Atiku said.
