Pope Francis officially designated Nwobi, previously holding the position of titular bishop of Rusgunie and auxiliary to the apostolic administrator sede vacante of Ahiara, as the substantive bishop of Ahiara Diocese on May 3, 2024. Nwobi’s journey to this esteemed position began when he was appointed titular bishop of Rusgunie and auxiliary bishop of the apostolic administrator sede vacante of Ahiara on October 14, 2023. His episcopal consecration followed on December 19, 2023.
