Bauchi – Bauchi state government has relocation the State’s College of Agriculture from Bauchi, the state capital, to the rice-producing town of Dass.
A statement issued by Abubakar Al-Sadique, Press Secretary to Gov. Mohammed Abubakar, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi on Friday, gave this indication.
“In an effort to re-engineer and reposition the practice of agriculture to make it the highest revenue earner to the state, Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar has announced the relocation of the Bauchi State College of Agriculture, from the state capital, to Dass Local Government area, one of the highest rice producing parts of the state,” said Al-Sadique.
He said the governor announced the relocation while hosting the people of Dass, Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro Local Government areas when they paid him a solidarity visit.
According to him, the governor reaffirmed his readiness to work with everybody, including those criticizing his administration, if they have something to offer for the development of state.
“My administration has done enough given the state of finances available to Bauchi state. If my critics and even political detractors have something tangible to contribute to the development of Bauchi state, we are ready to accommodate such people.
“The preoccupation of this administration is how to make life better for our people as we earlier promised during our campaigns,” he quoted the governor as saying.
Malam Murtala Ibrahim , Mr Elisha Gwamis and Mr Yusuf Wandi, who spoke on behalf of the people of the three local government areas, pledged their loyalty to the governor in his effort to transform the state.
