Kwali (FCT) – The National Community Health Practitioners Registration Board on Tuesday commenced the screening of its members in the FCT.
Alhaji Abdullahi Abdul-Kareem, the National Vice-President (North Central) of the board, who presided over the exercise, said any community health practitioner found wanting in the course of his national assignment would be panelised.
He stated this in Kwali Area Council, FCT at the beginning of the two-week exercise.
According to him, the two-week exercise is aimed at sanitising the health system, stressing that anyone who violated the rules, would be sanctioned.
Earlier the FCT Chairman of the association, Mr Elija Zakwoyi, said that the exercise was not intended to witch-hunt any member, but to bring sanity to the system.
He assured members that they stood to benefit from the exercise and in the process, quacks would be flushed out from the system.
NAN reports that the exercise began with members from Gwagwalada, Abaji and Kwali area councils as all health departments in agencies and parastatals in FCT would be screened. (NAN)
