JOS (Sundiata Post) – The major power plant of the Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JED) PLC has been razed by fire.
Eye witness say that the station, which is located in Mista Ali along Zaria road, in the Jos North local Government Area of Plateau city has been burning since late afternoon.
Men of the fire service have since been alerted to the scene.
However their efforts are said to have so far proved fruitful in battling the raging  fire.
JED PLC is an indigenous DISCOs incorporated in Nigeria to carry out the business of electricity distribution and retail sale in Plateau, Gombe, Bauchi and Benue States. It emerged out of the privatisation of the former Power Holding Company of Nigeria.
The disaster therefore poses threats to power supply in the area.
