Abuja – The Police on Monday arraigned a 22-year-old man, Sunny Julius, in a Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, for alleged criminal trespass, criminal force, and criminal intimidation.
The defendant, who resides at Health Centre, Karmo, is standing trial on a three-count charge bordering on criminal trespass,, assault and criminal intimidation.
The prosecutor, Zannan Dalhatu, told the court that one Uchenna Ozoani, of the same address with the defendant, reported the matter at the Karmo Police Station on March 7.
Dalhatu alleged that on the same date, while the complainant was in her room talking to the defendant’s sister, Cynthia Ebriku, Julius trespassed into her room and insulted her.
He later threatened to use his cult members to deal with her.
Dalhatu also said that in the process the complainant lost N15, 000.
According to him, the offences contravened Sections 348, 265 and 397 of the Penal Code.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, granted the accused bail in the sum of N20, 000 with one surety in like sum.
He adjourned the case until April 17, for hearing. (NAN)
