Abuja – The Chief Imam of Area 10 Juma’ah Mosque, Abuja, Malam Yahya Al-Yolawi, on Friday admonished Muslims to be God-fearing in all their affairs.
He gave the charge while delivering his Juma’ah (Friday) Sermon in Abuja.
The cleric reminded the congregation that God consciousness was a means to be in alignment with Allah.
According to Yolawi, one must be conscious of God and fear Him (Taqwa) to be honoured and respectful in His sight.
“Qur’an 49 Verse 13 says: `O mankind, indeed, we have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another.
“Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the God-fearing one. Indeed, Allah is knowing and acquainted,” he said.
The Imam advised the faithful to do everything that Allah has enjoined whether it is Waajib (obligatory), or Mustahab (recommended), while they should also do away with what He detests.
He also urged leaders and followers; strong and weak in the society, to be God-conscious in all their dealings by being fair, kind and just to one another as commanded by God.
“Q2 Verse 197 says: `And whatever good you do – Allah knows it; and take provision, but indeed, the best provision is fear of Allah (taqwa)”.
He said Allah would provide for followers that feared Him where they least expect and favour them with access to His paradise in the hereafter.
He also urged citizens to increase their support for the military in their campaign against insurgents, especially in the northern part of the country.
Al-Yolawi prayed for peace and progress in the country. (NAN)
