Abuja – Rev. Tor Uja, the Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) has urged Nigerians to uphold the truth at all times for the country to make meaningful progress.
Uja said this in Abuja on Wednesday while briefing newsmen ahead of the forthcoming meeting of chairmen of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria.
The cleric also called on the Federal Government to address fundamental issues affecting Nigerians, especially at the rural communities.
“We need to look at Nigeria, look at the villages, look at the youth, look at the women and address things that affect them fundamentally,’’ he said.
Speaking on the ongoing constitution amendment, Uja said that it was good for a nation in order to solve issues.
“I have always agued with lawyers, they said that the ground norm is the constitution.
“The UK has no constitution and yet they have provided excellent things for their people,’’ he said.
According to Ujah, a grand norm defines the life of a people, and the ground norm of Nigeria should be to uphold the truth
“So Nigerians must begin to uphold the truth for things to work smoothly for us,’’ the cleric said.
The NCPC boss also said that the commission was planning to host a conference of church leaders to enable the church dialogue and discuss issues being agitated for. (NAN)
