Abuja – The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) said on Thursday that coaches without the CAF B-Licence would not sit on the bench as Head Coaches of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) teams from 2016.
Shehu Dikko, Second Vice President of the NFF, said this while declaring open the two-week 2015 CAF B-Licence Coaching Course at the FIFA Technical Centre, National Stadium Abuja.
Dikko said that the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) was now ready to implement the all aspects of club licensing.
“This club licensing provisions forbids coaches without CAF Licence working with top tier clubs.
“As from next season, coaches without the B-Licence will not be able to sit on the bench as Head Coaches of NPFL teams.
“Those who do not have a minimum of C-Licence cannot be assistant coaches; we will start from there and go higher in the years to come,’’ he said.
Dikko, who is also the Chairman of the League Management Company (LMC), assured that the football house would ensure that Nigerian coaches met the required standard.
“The present NFF administration will continue to build the capacity of coaches because we have such high regard for them.
“Apart from the capacity building programmes here at home and abroad, we have also taken coaches on special training with regards to the pro-zone software.
