LAGOS – Johnson Sulola, President of the Nigeria Para-powerlifting Federation, on Thursday applauded the performance of Nigeria’s athletes at the just concluded Commonwealth Games.
The Nigeria powerlifters clinched four gold and two silver medals at the competition.
Sulola told NAN that the athletes were able to win the medals because of the new categories that were introduced in the event. [eap_ad_1] “We knew right from time that we are going to win all the medals and the same thing we did in India was the same thing this time around.
“We won all the available gold medals in India and the same thing we won all the available gold medals in Glasgow.
“Before it was just two gold medals available, but this time around it was four, that was why we were able to win four gold medals.
“The technical director, the secretary, the president we are working hand in hand to just to select the best.“
NAN recalls that Nigeria won a total of 36 medals consisting11 gold, 11 silver, and 14 bronze medals at the Glasgow Games. (NAN)
