Doma –  Mr John Danlami-Ogah, the new Sole Administrator, Doma Local Government, Nasarawa State, has constituted an 11-man committee to improve the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) profile of the council.

Danlami-Ogah, at the inauguration on Wednesday, said that the committee was constituted to boost the council’s revenue generation efforts.

He added that the committee was aimed at improving the revenue base of the council to complement government’s effort toward providing social amenities to the residents of the area.

Danlami-Ogah urged the people of the area to support the members of the committee in the discharge of their duties.

He, however, said that the council had opened a Treasury Single Account (TSA) for the committee to ensure monies realised were deposited in the account.

“I enjoin members of the committee to ensure that no stone is left un turned to enable us to compete favourably with other local governments in the state,’’ he said.

He said that members of the committee would identify measures to be taken to generate more revenue for the council.

The sole administrator added that the committee was also expected to find alternative ways of diversifying the council’s revenue generation.

Danlami-Ogah also urged members of the committee to discharge their duties with the fear of God, warning that anyone found wanting would be sanctioned.

Responding on behalf of the committee, Musa Mohammed-Agabi commended the sole administrator for finding them worthy of the assignment.

He assured him that the members would discharge their responsibilities diligently without fear or favour. (NAN)
