Abuja – A Wuse Zone 2 Senior Magistrates’ Court, FCT, on Wednesday remanded four persons over an alleged armed robbery of a pharmacist of goods worth N12.3 million.
The accused persons are : Abubakar Bala, 24, Sanni Hassan, 30, Idris Tanko, 32 and Suleiman Mohammed, 27, all of Gosa Village, along Airport Road, Abuja.
They are standing trial on a three-count-charge of criminal conspiracy, armed robbery and illegal possession of fire arms.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the offences leveled against them.
Magistrate Usman Shuaibu ordered that the defendants be remanded in prison custody pending conclusion of police investigation.
Shuaibu then adjourned hearing till Feb. 9.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Abba Sanni, told the court that a team attached to the Intelligence Response Team (IRT), had arrested the accused on Dec. 25.
He said that the accused, allegedly armed with sophisticated weapons, criminally conspired with each other and attacked one Kaleb Yohanna, a pharmacist at Lugbe, a suburb of Abuja of drugs valued at N12.3 million.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 6(a) (b), 2(a) (b) and 3(1) of the Robbery and Fire Arms Act, 2004. (NAN)
