Court remands man, 28, for causing grievious hurt

ABUJA – The police on Thursday arraigned a business man,Victor Usaka, at a Grade 1 Area Court, Kado, Abuja, for causing grievous hurt.
The prosecutor, Cpl Friday Idi, told the court that one Dimkan Lenkat of Gwarimpa Estate, Abuja, reported the matter to the Gwarimpa Police Station on Nov. 12.

Idi said that the accused went to Lenkat’s shop and beat her up, leaving her with serious injuries all over her body.
He said the complainants was currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Gwarimpa, FCT.
The prosecutor said the offence is punishable under Section 241 of the Penal Code.
However, the accused, pleaded not guilty to the charge but the Judge, Malam Abubakar Mohammed,
refused to grant him bail.
Mohammed then ordered that the accused be remanded in prison and adjourned the case until Dec. 8 for further hearing. (NAN)
