The chairman, Dangote Group of Companies, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has donated N50 million naira to the victims of the of the crisis in Mambilla Plateau in Sadauna Local Government Area of Taraba State.
This is as the State Governor, Darius Dickson Ishaku, has said that normalcy has been restored to the troubled area of the state.
This followed clashes between the natives and Fulani herdsmen
The governor, who spoke in Government House, Jalingo in an interactive session with journalists expressed happiness that the people have seen reason to embrace peace.
He promised that the government would do everything in its powers to ensure that the prevailing peace was sustained.
Dangote, who said he was in the state to kick start the multi-billion naira investment in the state in the area of sugar and rice production and processing, said there can never be any meaningful development in an area taken over by crises.
Reacting to the coming of Alhaji Aliko Dangote to the state, Governor Ishaku said his administration has just started unlocking potentials of the state particularly in agriculture.
The governor boasted that Taraba State has the potentials to feed Nigeria and west Africa with rice and it is the process that he has just started.
He said, “Taraba state has a lot to give the country, feed it with rice, feed it with sugar, feed it with tea and palm oil”, he stated.
He explained that he wouldn’t want to be a governor that only pays salaries, he also said his administration is working with Chinese embassy to commence the exportation of soya beans and sesame seed.
