
ABUJA (SundiataPost) – Delta State where the Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, his wife and daughter tested positive for COVID-19, on Wednesday overtook Lagos, the epicentre in Nigeria, in new infections of the virus.
In the update released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday night, the agency reported 790 new cases of COVID, out of which Delta State recorded 166. Lagos had 120 new cases, followed by Enugu State with 66 new cases.
In addition, the number of Nigerians killed by the pandemic has risen to 603, according to NCDC.
The total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria, according to the NCDC now stands at 26,484.
On the positive side, many more people have been treated and discharged. Those in this category now number 10,152.
