Mr Kabiru Dogo, the New technical adviser of the Wikki Tourists Football Club, Bauchi, has urged stakeholders in football to help him build a formidable team for the upcoming Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
Dogo made the call in an interview with the news Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday, in Bauchi, saying that he needed funding support of all stakeholders and their prayers, to enable him form a strong team that can compete effectively in the new season.
“Wikki Tourist football club belongs to all of us: the management, government, supporters, fans, captains of sport industries. We have to come together and uplift the team to become formidable and overcome the challenges of the last season.
“Wikki is a strong team that is well known in the league, no contribution is too small to support the team, it could be water, jerseys, shoes, among others, all can help in making the team strong,” he said.
Dogo said he had received all the necessary support from the government and management of Wikki FC since his assumption as technical adviser.
“We have been preparing very well for the next season and it is my hope that we are going to have a strong team with the calibre of players that we are going to recruit,” Dogo said.
The Technical Adviser said selection of players from the state’s 20 local government areas and outside the state was almost completed.
“We want to retain some of the core players of the team and add a few experienced players who will give us results.
“In fact, I have selected my players, except for a few invited ones who will join us within the week and we will subsequently unveil them,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the new Technical Adviser joined Wikki Tourists Football club in August, 2021 from Lobi Stars.
Meanwhile, the League Management Company (LMC) is yet to announce the commencement date for the 2021/22 NPFL season.
