Vice Chairman of Lobi Stars FC, Dorminic Iorfa has hailed the impact of match officials and the good work of the League Management Companyin the opening two weeks of the season.
With barely two weeks into the league season, there have been two away wins and several away draws and Iorfa has told believes that this would definitely be a season to remember in the history of the Nigerian league if the LMC, match officials and other stakeholders can keep the momentum.
He attested to the fact that the league has grown in its packaging and that the turnaround presently witnessed in the league were only wishful thinking some seasons ago.
“Those who follow football in this country can testify that the standard of play and officiating have improved tremendously as evident in the series of away draws and away wins recorded after only two round of matches in the season,” Iorfa told Goal.
“We drew against Bayelsa United and other teams also picked valuable away draws in the first week of action.
“As if that was not enough, we had two away wins in the second week with Heartland beating Shooting Stars in Ibadan and FC Taraba doing the unthinkable in Uyo against Akwa United. This is good for the game.”
The former Super Eagles’ striker also commented on his team’s 3-1 loss to Dream Team VI in a friendly match organized to commission the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi last Saturday insisting that his boys were never disgraced by the national U23 side.

“As you can see from the way we played, our boys scored first then the equalizer came not too long after our goal, the boys played very well against the Dream Team VI,” he added.

“I’m satisfied with their second half performance we made a few changes which stabilized the game. The goals were scored in the first half. The coaches will work on the lapses we identified in the game.”
