Benin – The Deputy Governor of Edo, Philip Shuaibu, has restated the commitment of the present administration in the state to provide jobs for the youth.
Shuaibu, who said this when he spoke with journalists in Benin on Tuesday, maintained that the commitment was in continuation with the policy of the immediate past government in the state.
He noted that former Governor Adams Oshiomhole had laid a solid foundation for rapid growth and development of the state.
The deputy governor said that the current government would ensure prompt payment of workers’ salaries and execution of people-oriented projects without over depending on the federal allocation.
He urged the media and the people of the state to support the Godwin Obaseki-led government in its efforts to fulfill electoral promises.
In his remarks, Roland Osakue, the state Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), pledged the cooperation and support of journalists to the government to enable it succeed.
